1. How did you first get involved with Campus Outreach?
I became a Christian in high school and when I went to college I knew I wanted to learn how to walk with the Lord so I tried out most of the Christian ministries at Radford but had never heard of Campus Outreach. I didn't feel settled in any of the other ministries and one happy day my friend from class introduced me to the two women who worked for CO at Radford at the time. When I said my name they exclaimed "you're Cara Myrtle?! We've been looking for you!" Haha unbeknownst to me their landlord, my family friend had been urging them to find "Cara Myrtle" and they didn't know how that would happen on a college campus of 10,000 students. Praise God He orchestrated it all! I remember being so in awe of the way they loved the Lord and were giving their lives away on the college campus so students would know Him and glorify Him. I wanted to be just like them...
2. What was your favorite thing about running track?
I feel like there is little that can compare to the pure exhilaration and adrenaline that comes from hurdling obstacles at high speeds! I ran the 400 meter hurdles and it was definitely a love-hate relationship because the day in and day out work was hard and I always felt so physically nervous before every race but in the race it was a fight for my life and after it was a satisfaction of having given all I had.
3. If you could be any kind of flower what would you be and why?
I think I would like to be a mountain wild flower. They get to sit atop the most rugged places in the world and be both spectator and participant of God's Creation and glory!
4. Describe yourself in 3 words
