Leadership Development

Mark 10:43-45 “But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

Just as Jesus did, we value the development of leaders. Leaders are those who, in the power of the Spirit, seek to lay down their lives for the benefit of others. On the campus we seek to create opportunities for students to take leadership and serve others. We value the holistic development of a leader through equipping their head (theology), heart (character), and hands (practical ministry skills).

Life-on-Life Discipleship

Campus Outreach believes the best spiritual training takes place in the context of relationships. We emphasize the importance of incarnational ministry – one individual sharing his or her life with another. Through this process new believers are born, discipled, and grow to maturity. We desire to live out the Gospel in our relationships among students, with staff, among the various Campus Outreach ministries, and in the body of Christ.

Large Events and Small Groups

We believe that Christ ministered in two ways. First, he invested in small, relational settings where leaders and participants could influence one another. Second, he ministered through powerful events that gathered, trained, and encouraged large groups of people all at once. We value the coupling of incarnational ministry in small groups with annual catalytic events like our New Year’s Conference, Alpha Project, and Cross-Cultural Projects.
